Children and youth are an integral part of our church community and we are committed to helping them grow to be Christians in faith, knowledge, service, and action.

Children in sunday worship

On Sunday mornings, we offer families with young children a “soft space” in the main seating area—a comfortable spot with a large carpet and soft toys where little ones can move, play, and remain part of the worship service in a gentle, welcoming way. A nursery and changing room are also available at the back of the church for additional care and convenience.

Children ages preschool through 12 are invited to participate in our Godly Play program in the Jack Hulley classroom. This imaginative and interactive program helps children enter into the wonder of God’s story in a meaningful, age-appropriate way. We begin in the Godly Play classroom at 10:15am, and children return to their families in time for Holy Communion.

youth group

Our youth ministry at St. John’s is a small but growing community where young people can explore what it means to follow Jesus in real and everyday life. Together we ask honest questions, build friendships, and discover how faith connects with the world we live in.

Youth Group meets one Wednesday evening each month for food, fellowship, and conversation. It’s a relaxed space—come as you are, bring a friend, and be part of what’s growing here.

To find out the next meeting date, subscribe to our weekly e-news or contact the church office for details.

acolytes

Acolyting is a way of practicing worship that moves beyond Sunday words into lived expression. Worship is our response of adoration and reverence toward God, shaped not only by what we say and sing, but also by how we move, serve, and participate together in the life of the church. In worship, the prayers we speak, the songs we lift, the actions we take, and even the emotions we bring become a living offering of ourselves to God.

Beginning at age 13, children and youth in the congregation are invited to join the acolyting team. In this role, they serve in worship and learn what it means to embody faith in tangible, meaningful ways.
